A 64-Tx/64-Rx configuration therefore records 128 vectors but allocates only 64, leaving NULL entries that resource setup dereferences. Include the maximum vector count in standalone allocation. The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2026-98618 to this issue. Affected and fixed versions =========================== Issue introduced in 6.11 with commit bc6107771bb4be3009168cfda24d22131c026fe8 and fixed in 6.12.112 with commit 9843e5fabd6ab296df9c025b1d0e5bf79a6b8a08 Issue introduced in 6.11 with commit bc6107771bb4be3009168cfda24d22131c026fe8 and fixed in 6.18.55 with commit 6c903188b67617070017305a325fa326f270a43d Issue introduced in 6.11 with commit bc6107771bb4be3009168cfda24d22131c026fe8 and fixed in 7.2.9 with commit 16ff1023213cc39c1a7ce737205c2a1a53c3a716 Issue introduced in 6.11 with commit bc6107771bb4be3009168cfda24d22131c026fe8 and fixed in 7.3-rc5 with commit 1f4c73064a50f53d596c6f1d06d2d700f43c4b32 Please see https://www.kernel.org for a full list of currently supported kernel versions by the kernel community. Unaffected versions might change over time as fixes are backported to older supported kernel versions. The official CVE entry at https://cve.org/CVERecord/?id=CVE-2026-98618 will be updated if fixes are backported, please check that for the most up to date information about this issue. Affected files ============== The file(s) affected by this issue are: drivers/net/ethernet/meta/fbnic/fbnic_txrx.c Mitigation ========== The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes. Individual changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel release. Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or supported by the Linux kernel community at all. If however, updating to the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this issue can be found at these commits: https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9843e5fabd6ab296df9c025b1d0e5bf79a6b8a08 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6c903188b67617070017305a325fa326f270a43d https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/16ff1023213cc39c1a7ce737205c2a1a53c3a716 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1f4c73064a50f53d596c6f1d06d2d700f43c4b32
