Fix this by using the smallest integration time as a default if reading fails. The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2026-98661 to this issue. Affected and fixed versions =========================== Issue introduced in 6.4 with commit e52afbd61039e2c5a4e611e23b4aa963d34a4aef and fixed in 6.12.113 with commit 050482f958521d80603e88d5c3a59872528ec13c Issue introduced in 6.4 with commit e52afbd61039e2c5a4e611e23b4aa963d34a4aef and fixed in 6.18.56 with commit 10a958e76c737c19576e1097c49f210eb99b94bf Issue introduced in 6.4 with commit e52afbd61039e2c5a4e611e23b4aa963d34a4aef and fixed in 7.2.10 with commit 6a27402a8ff1f63464557c5274a4115b60ea1f2f Issue introduced in 6.4 with commit e52afbd61039e2c5a4e611e23b4aa963d34a4aef and fixed in 7.3-rc6 with commit 8065a6c02f629187131f3136bedb26f9080e3cca Please see https://www.kernel.org for a full list of currently supported kernel versions by the kernel community. Unaffected versions might change over time as fixes are backported to older supported kernel versions. The official CVE entry at https://cve.org/CVERecord/?id=CVE-2026-98661 will be updated if fixes are backported, please check that for the most up to date information about this issue. Affected files ============== The file(s) affected by this issue are: drivers/iio/light/rohm-bu27034.c Mitigation ========== The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes. Individual changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel release. Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or supported by the Linux kernel community at all. If however, updating to the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this issue can be found at these commits: https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/050482f958521d80603e88d5c3a59872528ec13c https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/10a958e76c737c19576e1097c49f210eb99b94bf https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6a27402a8ff1f63464557c5274a4115b60ea1f2f https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8065a6c02f629187131f3136bedb26f9080e3cca
