I am running a 2.4.20-8 custom kernel using the 1.0.9a alsa cvs release. My system is a latitude cpi a366xt using the NM256av card. Loading the snd-nm256 module still causes a kernel lockup every 2 out of 3 loads, the lockup seems to happen everytime when loaded without X running. Is there any solution to this??? I have tried various solutions I have found searching google and the alsa-devel mailing list. I have seen that upgrading to a 2.6.7 kernel fixes this problem completly, I am in the process of upgrading but would prefer not to if possible (I am using a 56k modem for internet connection) if there is an alternative solution. Is there any way I can help with debugging this problem/ finding a solution?? Any information you could give me that might help with solving this nasty bug would be much appreciated.
