Unfortunately a hyphen by itself confuses many programs, like "cd". "cd -" doesn't work. I guess that leaves ,, as the only one easy to type (no shift key needed), that doesn't have too many other impacts, and it does come out in the front of the sort order, even before "..". - Alex
