I have seen talkback on the dev list of a patch for this and it seems to have been included in the latest ac97_codec.c file. However, the CS4205 is not listed as a supported card nor is it mentioned in the INSTALL file. So what do I do to get this funky card and especially the SPDIF output to work? I know Mandrake 8.2 with the old 0.5.x ALSA just treated it as an intel 810 sound system. That worked fine, but probably wouldn't help me use SPDIF.
