I did some poking around in the dosemu code. Fortunately the phrase "unknow
builtin" appears only once (in src/plugin/coopthreads/coopthreads.c), and it
appeared to be part of dosemu's built-in command interpreter.
Following a recent tip I read on this list from Bart Oldeman to Jan Willem
Stumpel, I played a hunch and replaced the default command.com (link to
comcom.com) with my 4DOS command.com. Now dosemu works perfectly!
So, thank you, gentlemen -- you never know when your discussions will benefit
someone else on this list. Please now consider this a bug report for comcom.com.
Now, on to trying the I/O ports...
Regards,
Brad
