Why is the following document, together with other documents in that
directory, not easily accessible from the alsa-project web site?

alsa-kernel/Documentation/ALSA-Configuration.txt

Cheers
James

Didn't know about it. Will add it soon.

Hi,
I'm new to ALSA and I'm supposed to write a driver to a device soon.
I'm looking for a document that describes the ALSA architecture and
definitions of common terms in ALSA and audio in general. I was reading
the "Writing an ALSA Driver" by Takashi Iwai 0.3.6 Edition but it went
too deep before I could understand the ALSA meta-architecture.
Please help.
Thanks.

There is no high level design document for ALSA. You'll just have to
figure it out from the driver guide and the code examples.
