Subject: Hercules Game Theater XP 7.1 ALSA driver installation help...
Date: Wed, 12 Nov 2003 01:02:13 +1000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3FB0F9F5.1050505@yahoo.com.au> (raw)
Hey everyone,
I'm new to Linux, and this list. I have just installed RedHat 9.0 and
updated my kernel to 2.4.20-20.9.
My problem is, that no matter what I try, I can't get my soundcard to
work. I have followed the installation guide for ALSA drivers, and it
seemed to install it, but when I use the Soundcard Detection program to
test my card, it gives me the "The cs46xx driver could not be loaded.
This soundcard may not be compatible with Red Hat Linux." error.
When I view the startup log, it doesn't seem to load the Soundcard at all.
Did anyone get this card to work, and if so, could you please give me
some pointers as to what I might be doing wrong?
And/or are there any "simple" guides out there, that would explain how
to install the ALSA driver on this platform for the Game Theater XP 7.1
soundcard?
Thanks,
Jerry
