Subject: iptables module installation going wrong.
Date: Thu, 13 Nov 2003 16:21:19 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3FB3935F.8030907@netlab.hut.fi> (raw)
Hei!
I tried to install iptables v1.2.9 on a Debian with a 2.4.22 kernel but
I cannot load the module in the kernel.
I patched my kernel with patch-o-matic (20030912)), re-configured it and
I think I didn't forget any option. (I put the relevant part of the
.config file at the end of this mail)
I made the new kernel and options, installed them, rebooted.
I installed iptables. no problem.
I tried to load the iptables.o in the kernel and I get the following error:
pc104:/# insmod iptables.o
iptables.o: couldn't find the kernel version the module was compiled for
while if I just try to use iptables, I get:
pc104:/# iptables -L
modprobe: Can't locate module ip_tables
iptables v1.2.9: can't initialize iptables table `filter': iptables who?
(do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.
pc104:/#
Does someone have a clue?
Thanks,
Emmanuel
