PS: The file I played is a wav-file containing _only a single sample_ to
make sure playing of the file does not interfer with the time measurement.
PPS: The longest time period is this line (~10 lines from the bottom up):

When I monitor the sound while watching the strace output, I can see
that line beeing written half way, than the delay, than the click of the
soundcard, then the rest of the strace output.
