Subject: PROBLEM: Laptop keyboard redetected each time computer screen wakes up from powerdown
Date: Sun, 04 Apr 2004 17:00:43 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <4070777B.1050609@yahoo.com> (raw)

[1.] One line summary of the problem:
Laptop keyboard re-detected each time computer screen wakes up from
power down.

[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
Each time a key is pressed to wake up the screen on an IBM ThinkPad 560X
laptop with the screen APM powered down, the followed message appears on
the foreground console: "input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard on
isa0060/serio0". This is a problem because the message throws off the
console output in some applications.

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel):
laptop, input, APM, keyboard, IBM, Thinkpad, 560X

[4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version):
Linux version 2.6.3 (root@herojr) (gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040321))
#15 Tue Mar 30 13:51:21 EST 2004

[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information
      resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt):
n/a

[6.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the problem
(if possible):
Enable APM in Linux. Wait for the screen to turn off. Press any key on
the keyboard to wake the computer up.

[7.] Environment

[7.1.] Software (add the output of the ver_linux script here):
If some fields are empty or look unusual you may have an old version.
Compare to the current minimal requirements in Documentation/Changes.
