If you are wanting to apply the patch to blkfront.c, run:

     patch path/to/xen-2.0/linux-2.6.9-xen-sparse/drivers/xen/blkfront.c 
path/to/blkfront.patch

which should update blkfront.c and allow compilation to continue.
