Actually, I did the quick format.

But the issue here is that I have lost a raw image that was just fine 
before 0.6.1. (well, as well as xp being a pos.)

And that partition was formatted with the full format, because You cant 
do a quick format in 2000 pro.

I am re installing xp with the full format right now, and will report 
back with my results.
