Subject: [Bluez-devel] iTech A2DP anyone?
Date: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 07:39:38 -0700 [thread overview]

Hi
I just ordered an iTech A2DP/HF/HS headset on ebay (see
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5757990112 )
I got a strange email back from them claiming the manufacturer says A2DP
only works with bluetooth 1.2 hardware and that I can get my money back
if I prefer:
====================================
Today, we have received an update from the Manufacturer regarding the
compability of the Bluetooth Stereo Headset which you have purchased.
This headset is not able to listen to music played by Mobile Phone or
PDA unless the Mobile Phone or PDA supports Bluetooth v1.2 (not v1.1)
and the media player program itself is able to channel the audio
output via Bluetooth.
We have tested the headset with Treo650 and no music could be heard
via the headset, although it functions normally like a general headset
(since Treo650 does not support Bluetooth v1.2)
====================================
Has anyone tried this headset? It seems strange they'd make that claim.
I can see them saying it doesn't work with very many devices since
hardly anyone supports A2DP, but 1.2 only??
The fact that the treo 650 doesn't appear to support A2DP at all
confuses things more.
Brad
