Here is my next try.

I calculate the minimum of the i-cache stride sizes.
( Good luck for those who want to use mixed systems :-). )

About a single OS image across multiple cache coherence domains:
I think Linux is designed for a single cache coherence domain,
see e.g. the atomic operations.
