thanks ./configure ---cc=gcc32 -target-list= x86_64-softmmu enabled me 
to compile

and modprobe kqemu loaded the kernel module but the system hangs with 
the following command:

qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-audio -user-net /home/dv/qemu/hd.img

any ideas
