I even think Acer Aspire (or whatever is the other series name, that is written on the cd/manual - i don't clearly remember) is similar enough to the TravelMate. > Jonathan, by your last email, I was thinking in a possibility. I used them. They seem to be software keys, and Gnome treats them as such. As opposed to the brightness control keys (hardware), these are detected by `showkey`. > Someone who has windows in this laptop could help, using this keyboard > controls and checking if it controls the mixer volume, or something > else. Rimas, do you have windows in your laptop? Can you please make > this check? I don't. But of course these keys would control the volume. That's a software, not hardware feature, though. > I've also taked a look at the windows drivers cd Acer provided. I doubt that. but if they do, that would make our enigma much easier to solve. > Another thing I've perceived is that the drivers cd contains BlueTooth > drivers, and my model hasn't BlueTooth. My notebook does have bluetooth. :) RQ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
