The kernel module in cvs should work with 2.6.16 but it if doesn't,
please send us a bug report. We're probably due for another snapshot
release. I'll do a 0.42 in a week or so if everything looks good.

Getting stuff in mainline requires a significant political and technical
effort. And that would be after making a decent technical justification
for kernel rather than userspace...
