Hi folks,

I have used a 3rd-party wlan driver "zd1211" for months. The
device alias was called "wlan0". (Its an usb WLAN dongle.)

With 2.6.18-rc1 there is a driver "zd1211rw" included in the
kernel sources, coming from the same people (AFAICT). But now
the device alias is supposed to be called "eth?". Of course
iwconfig still shows a "wlan0" device, and fails to configure
the new driver :-(.

How comes? Does udev somehow "remember" the old "wlan0" and
refuses to provide "eth2"? What would be your recommendation?

Many thanx

Harri
