Hello,

I'm an ALSA newbie and i could use a helping hand.

Does each ALSA driver always use a specific I/O port or the port
is allocated dynamically by the linux kernel?

Thanks,
Constantine

Depends. In most cases with modern devices (e.g. PCI), the driver
uses resources allocated by the linux kernel core. Some old devices
require static resources specified manually, usually adjustable via
module options.
