Try adding this to your board config file:

#define CFG_DDR_SDRAM_CLK_CNTL	(DDR_SDRAM_CLK_CNTL_SS_EN | \
				DDR_SDRAM_CLK_CNTL_CLK_ADJUST_05)

On some 834x systems, CFG_DDR_SDRAM_CLK_CNTL needs to be defined but the header files 
don't define it.
