Subject: [Qemu-devel] /dev/rtc with FreeBSD Guest
Date: Sat, 11 Aug 2007 16:44:13 +0100 [thread overview]

Running FreeBSD/x86 5.3 guest under Linux/x86 host gives:
"Could not configure '/dev/rtc' to have a 1024 Hz timer. This is not a fatal
error, but for better emulation accuracy either use a 2.6 host Linux kernel or
type 'echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq' as root."
But (a) I am running a 2.6 host kernel so the first advice isn't needed and
(b) I get an error with the other suggestion:
[root@njh njh]# echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq
bash: /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq: No such file or directory
[root@njh njh]#
This is with QEMU from CVS.
