You are right, but, well, that package is in the unstable tree. 

Of course kvm is not exactly 'stable' but still, I see no reason to 
activate unstable in /etc/apt/sources.list if that only provides you 
with a very old version that is also not stable.

It is being maintained by Baruch Even <mailto:baruch@debian.org> and 
Leonard Norrgård <mailto:vinsci@refactor.fi>.

Latest release (kvm-28) is dated june 21st, and that is almost 2 months ago.
