I can't remember how sgi disklabels work under linux; does this show up
as /dev/sdb8 /dev/sdb9 /dev/sdb11 or  as /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdb2 /dev/sdb3
in linux?

Look at /proc/partitions...

point file -s at /dev/sdb$WHATEVER

see if any of them say "xfs"

and try to mount that :)
