Date: Sun, 02 Nov 2008 23:17:29 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <490E26F9.7070506@toptarif.de> (raw)
hi kvm-list,
i am testing kvm for some days now but i cannot get it really working.
setup:
- host running gentoo 2.6.25-gentoo-r8
- core2duo T5600
- kvm-77
- guest gentoo2008 minimal iso
command:
kvm -cdrom install-x86-minimal-2008.0.iso -hda gentoo-i686.img -m 512M
-curses
problem:
the qemu-bios does not boot up and does not respond to f12 or any other key.
####
QEMU BIOS - build:
09/30/08
$Revision: 1.182 $ $Date: 2007/08/01 17:09:51
$
Options: apmbios pcibios eltorito
rombios32
ata0 master: QEMU HARDDISK ATA-7 Hard-Disk (5120
MBytes)
ata1 master: QEMU DVD-ROM ATAPI-4
CD-Rom/DVD-Rom
Press F12 for boot
menu.
####
further tests:
disabling kvm either through disabling access to "/dev/kvm" or using the
"-no-kvm" boots up fine.
kvm -cdrom install-x86-minimal-2008.0.iso -hda gentoo-i686.img -m 512M
-curses -no-kvm
any help would be really appreciated.
regards
jan
