Hmm, I'm connected to convers and I see g-calls now. Though I had some 
funkiness
last night.  And I think maybe fedora did an update and something 
changed because
after a  reboot I couldn't make any outgoing connections at alll, but 
incoming
connections still worked.  How weird.   I'm still really trying to track 
down
what changed.
