And why we all are waiting:

As it is that much standardized nowadays, because everything is nearly
optimized - for example you cannot expect any new picture format that
is much more effective than jpeg2000, you will have todays pdf standard
in yeas to come ... etc -
because the ways to handle user data nowadays will settle down,
will ever less change - that is the chance for reiser4 with plugins
to come to market. Hans Reiser was a bit early with his efforts.

Now, whenever the data-system (old narrow concept "filesytem") can
handle more and more of the logic itself (through the plugins) the
field of new connected programming logic will wide open!
