Unfortunately it looks as if D-Link changed their hardware-revision, as this card now reports to have an AR5008 instead of the old revisions AR5416. Well, so far so good, loading the ath9k seems to work, association to an AP also works, but only at a rate of 1MBit. Turning on master mode results in: acapulco ~ # iwconfig wifi0 mode master Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) : SET failed on device wifi0 ; Invalid argument. Also running in managed mode I have the problem that connection deautheticates and then machine freezes after reconnection happens. Last lines in log before freezing are: Dec 14 22:06:54 acapulco [ 1199.845504] wifi0: deauthenticated Dec 14 22:06:54 acapulco wpa_cli: interface wifi0 DISCONNECTED Dec 14 22:06:55 acapulco [ 1200.844022] wifi0: authenticate with AP 00:0f:c9:01:9e:12 Dec 14 22:06:55 acapulco [ 1200.845651] wifi0: authenticated Dec 14 22:06:55 acapulco [ 1200.845656] wifi0: associate with AP 00:0f:c9:01:9e:12 Dec 14 22:06:55 acapulco [ 1200.848916] wifi0: RX ReassocResp from 00:0f:c9:01:9e:12 (capab=0x471 status=0 aid=1) Dec 14 22:06:55 acapulco [ 1200.848934] wifi0: associated Dec 14 22:06:57 acapulco wpa_cli: interface wifi0 CONNECTED After this even SYS-REQ does not work anymore and only a hard-reboot helps, even on console I don't get a core-dump or anything. Does anybody have any hint for me? BTW: Machine is running gentoo with most recent git-sources 2.6.28-rc8-git1 If any further information is needed, just let me know.
