suggestions:

root=dhcp

NFS
< root=[<server-ip>:]<root-dir>[,<nfs-options>]
< root=??? nfsroot=[<server-ip>:]<root-dir>[,<nfs-options>]
---
> root=nfs:[<server-ip>:]<root-dir>[,<nfs-options>]

or

< root=[<server-ip>:]<root-dir>[,<nfs-options>]
< root=??? nfsroot=[<server-ip>:]<root-dir>[,<nfs-options>]
---

[ignored] applies to nbd, etc as well.
