Fine.

Now, how do I measure this objectively so that I can give you meaningful 
results (before/after)?

My system is currntly working fine, using a hg clone from quite a few 
months ago, so if things are not directly visible...

Well, breakage is easier to notice!

I can test on the Nova-T 500.
