Massimo, I am running Gentoo 2.6.30-r4 and I don't seem to be able to reproduce the problem, maybe I am not understanding it correctly. Here is what I tried. I also attached my config if it helps you any. -MJ Linux ##### 2.6.30-gentoo-r4-02-aug-2009 #1 SMP Sun Aug 2 10:13:17 EEST 2009 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux #cryptsetup luksFormat -c twofish-lrw-benbi:sha256 -s 256 -h sha1 /dev/loop/2 #LUKS header information for /dev/loop/2 Version: 1 Cipher name: twofish Cipher mode: lrw-benbi:sha256 Hash spec: sha1 Payload offset: 2056 MK bits: 256 MK digest: 5b 49 05 f9 c6 d8 00 3d 52 90 61 0c c0 47 f7 ca e6 84 ae be MK salt: 3b 5a df ce ca 5c 26 dd b5 b2 dc 88 7b 57 8a c3 8f a9 64 03 99 c0 50 c1 db 9b 6e 69 14 c3 da 16 MK iterations: 10 UUID: 12f49c42-a2a6-4f40-93fa-7f4050e878ff Key Slot 0: ENABLED Iterations: 197785 Salt: 9f b5 20 f1 57 af a4 53 b7 26 47 5b 62 9c 4b b3 29 50 ed 97 cf 2e f5 8d d1 36 d0 d9 ac 3d e9 52 Key material offset: 8 AF stripes: 4000 Key Slot 1: DISABLED Key Slot 2: DISABLED Key Slot 3: DISABLED Key Slot 4: DISABLED Key Slot 5: DISABLED Key Slot 6: DISABLED Key Slot 7: DISABLED #cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/loop/2 test Enter LUKS passphrase: key slot 0 unlocked.
