Subject: [Printing-architecture] Google Summer of Code 2010 - Bad News: Only ONE Student for OpenPrinting

Hi,
the application period for the students is over and though the Linux
Foundation has got a total of 22 student applications, only ONE (1)
student has applied for an OpenPrinting project. So printing is really
not sexy :-(
And this one student has also applied for an idea which is more data
compression that then printing-typical stuff. The application at least
makes a good impression, so I will go with that student.
But a lot of work we wanted to get done by this GSoC did not find a student.
See (or hear) you on the OpenPrinting Summit. Perhaps we should discuss
how to make printing more interesting for developers.
