Although aimed primarily at  fpac, there's some very useful info here 
http://rose.fpac.free.fr/MINI-HOWTO/

fpac is node software for Rose, Netrom and Flexnet. The netrom portion 
is very close to LinuxNode and shares much of that code.

Bernard uses Mandriva but many fpac users run Debian or a 'buntu 
derivative of it. I run vanilla Debian.
