I spoke with Jim Oberhofer KN6PE a couple of months ago about
using Outpost on Linux. He said that he'd heard from several
local hams in who have succeeded, using an older version of
WINE, but that the current version of WINE doesn't work as
well. I don't recall the specific details of the versions.

suggests a workaround, using a local Telnet proxy.
