On older and newer kernel I see the same output:
$ cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource
tsc
$ cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/available_clocksource
tsc hpet acpi_pm

Maybe some side effect somehow. I can't explain.
