Subject: oops with flaky usb hard drive - 2.6.38
Date: Mon, 06 Jun 2011 20:36:23 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <4DED9CB7.3090906@jeffunit.com> (raw)

I am running mageia which is using the 2.6.38 32 bit kernel.
I have an external usb hard drive which is a bit flakey, and has one
ext4 partition for the entire drive.

Using the 2.6.33 32 bit kernel with mandriva 2010.2, the hard drive
would just go offline, and
I could umount it then mount it.

With the 2.6.38 kernel from mageia, I get an oops.

Enclosed is the syslog output showing 3 oops messages, with the text
around the time of the problem.
