So I had a few issues with the stock 11.04 ath9k_htc driver and putting the devices into AP mode. Even when in managed mode I was getting a very poor rate. After installing compat-wireless-3.0.2 and firmware 1.3 my devices have been humming. V/r Daniel Smith
