I'm having troubles too with the same chipset and same kernel. Lately I've tried to disable power management at boot, with "iwconfig wlan0 power off" and until now this seems to have fixed my problems. But I can't use much the netbook in these days, so I don't know if it's just an illusion. Anyway you could try it.
