I don't think so ifconfig does not show ipv6. Two of the systems are
11.10 ubuntu.

No, all three different. And all 3 used to work with git.buildroot.net
As another data point, I just went to a 32 bit windows xp machine, it
also could not resolve git.buildroot.net. It is a network/dns problem.
