Can you post some more information about what NIC you are using (brand, version, etc). Also, output from 'lspci -v' should be helpful. What PC are you using? Are there any errors in /var/log/messages (or dmesg) before this error? In the past, it has been suggested that you try disabling power-saving and see if that helps.
