During bootup it "hangs" with the message: Reiserfs: hda4: checking transaction log (hda4) There is constant activity on the hard drive and even after waiting an entire night (rolls eyes) it was still doing the same thing. So I had to force reboot by Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Btw, I can access the partition from another distro (thankfully I have multi-booted machine) and have checked the partition again and again with no errors reported. I have also used the rebuild-tree option but the bootup issue remains!
