thanks for your testing.
My patches are based on the Chris's master branch  
(git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mason/btrfs-progs.git, 
commit
91d9eec1ff044394f2b98ee7fcb76713dd33b994).

I was able to apply both without problem.
disk_free cannot be the source of the problem because it doesn't touch 
utils.c.

I tryed to pull from my repo,
