This seems reasonable to me. However, I don't think it helps solve the
case you mentioned in your earlier email:

In that case there are two DAIs, and with this patch and no specified
DAI name, you won't be able to control which of those two DAIs gets used
by the DAI link.

So while I can see the utility of this patch in some cases, I think you
really want to explicitly specify the DAI name (or DAI ID) in the device
tree for the simple-audio use-case.
