Subject: hdmi audio out
Date: Sat, 09 Mar 2013 18:10:14 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <513BC156.7080300@nostar.net> (raw)

I have an hp DV9347cl with a GeForce Go 7600. HDMI audio out doesnt
work with either nvidia or nouveau driver in linux, and only works with
an old version of the nvidia driver as described here:

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio-e-g-Windows-8/No-Audio-from-dv9000-HDMI-to-Sony-HD-TV/td-p/30293

So, is anyone familiar with pass thru type hdmi audio in the nouveau
driver? I would really like to get this working since this laptop is
used as my entertainment machine for my living room, and I despise
having to use windows for this, but right now I have no choice. I have
good programming skills and some linux module programming experience, so
I can work with someone providing debug info, etc more knowledgeable
about this driver if anyone can help.
