I have same adapter, here are images of it:

but i don't have this problem. It will be interesting to have more
information:
- please send output of "sudo iw dev wlan0 scan dump"
- information about your access point. if possible name of wireless chip
in it. you can link it with wikidevi.com
- do you use power_save mode? you can check it with "iw dev wlan0 get
power_save"
