Comment - The trusty tahr version has changed without a difference in
the behavior; the data above comes from a newly installed and tested
version for the suspend/resume fail problem.
Comment: Resume attempt results in computer fans turning on and
monitor coming out of sleep state; no video. Ctl-Alt-F2 pulls up a
terminal login which enables user name entry without proceeding to
requesting a password. Not possible to do anything more except pull up
another terminal with the same result or the system becoming
unresponsive to any input attempt.
