I had this issue too on my beaglebone black, the "lsusb" output was 
"unable to initialize libsub: -99". I changed the kernel config and 
other things but didn't work, and then I put the packages that I wrote 
and work. I don't why these packages were installed, because there's 
usbgadget usbhost distro_feature.
