I will spin up a version of Windows 7 and give it a try given that I'm not looking at it, I can strip it down to the barest user interface elements and improve performance significantly. FYI, Windows 8 actually works better for hand crips like myself because it's easier to fit the big blocky icons with hand tremors and has flaky fine motion control them is to try and hit the tiny little icons and menus. Yes, that's why I like unity as well. :-) I would love to have a capability to make the title bar drop downs bigger temporarily so I could more easily pick elements out of them but otherwise have been visually out-of-the-way.
