Beside that, all "cd" commands should be done within an own sub-shell.
In other words, something like this:
		mkdir -p bar/baz &&
		(
               		cd bar/baz &&
               		>hello.world &&
               		git add . &&
               		git commit -a -m nested
		)
Side note:
Needed to drop Eric:
