Hi Sage,

Do you think it's worth sending a mail announcing the retirement of dumpling ? 

It could be something like:

Hi,

Dumpling, the first major stable release of Ceph[1] published August 2013 retires after more than 18 months of service. People running a Dumpling cluster should upgrade to Firefly and then to Hammer. 

Ceph developers are actively fixing bugs on both Firefly and Hammer and point releases are published on a regular basis. For more information on the past Ceph releases and their expected lifetime, please see the release timeline at http://ceph.com/docs/master/releases/. For information about the preparation of the next stable release, go to the "Stable releases and backports" project at http://tracker.ceph.com/projects/ceph-releases/issues
